Yuletide Scents: The old Fashion Way to Scent Up Your Home

Yuletide Blend

Cinnamon Citrus Pine

It’s the holiday season, which means… everything is cozy!

I want to share a homemade recipe I use every year to make my home smell like Christmas. I have created several different varieties of scents, but today I’ll share what is currently filling my little home.

I call it my “Yuletide Blend”. This is SUPER easy to make, very inexpensive, and has been used for decades to spice up the home. And for those who care, its the all natural way to do it!

Here is what you need:

Directions:

1.) Fill a sauce pan with water and place on stovetop. Turn stovetop to medium low heat.

2.) Peel one large orange (or 2 cuties) and place orange peel and orange in the water.

3.) Put 2 Cinnamon Bark pieces into the mixture.

4.) Cut a lemon into 4s, and add to mixture.

5.) Sprinkle Nutmeg seasoning over the top.

6.) Drop 2-4 clippings of evergreen pine into mixture.

7.) Gently mix with spoon, and return heat to low/simmer.

Enjoy :)

*Turn off stovetop when leaving house, and simply return to low whenever desired. Will last for 2-3 days. Add water to the mixture as needed.
